Wnc filmmaking

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to meet with Jason Sandford from Ashevegas, who is doing exceptional journalism work in the WNC area. If you're interested in staying informed about the region, we highly recommend subscribing to his work.

In his article, Jason explores the thriving WNC film scene and the region's impressive growth. We were thrilled to be part of the conversation, as we believe we contribute significantly to this area as a valuable resource. It's also gratifying to see Ride High mentioned alongside renowned names such as Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, Beverly D'Angelo, Nicole Richie, and Eugene Levy, whom are currently filming in WNC.

Additionally, Jason discusses the incentives and filmmaker spending in the state, highlighting that North Carolina ranked sixth-best in 2022. Governor Roy Cooper, N.C. Department of Commerce Secretary Machalle Baker Sanders, and Guy Gaster, the director of the N.C. Film Office, issued a press release earlier this year, emphasizing the industry's economic impact and the state's progress since it began offering incentives in 2000.

We eagerly anticipate the continued growth of the area and the addition of more film projects to the already illustrious film community. Asheville holds a remarkable cinematic heritage, and we are proud to be a part of it. For the complete article by Jason, please click the link below.
